Shamberere Technical Training Institute was established in 1982 as a Rural Education Programme and later elevated to a Youth Polytechnic in 1985. It was subsequently awarded a Trade Test Center in 1996, catering for boarders and day scholars. The institute is now registered under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MOHEST) as one the technical training institutes in Kenya.

To provide quality human resource through Technical Innovation, Vocational and Entrepreneurial Training (TIVET) for the local and international market.

VISION STATEMENT:

To be a center of Excellence in Technological Engineering, Innovation and Entrepreneurial research.

The government of Kenya is the main sponsor of the institute and has nominated a Board of Mangers to manage the school on it's behalf.
